Production Etude 5 – An edition of four pairs for the introductory price of £13000 / pair
The Etude 5 has been introduced to fill a need; “many listeners love the coherence and impulse response of a single driver loudspeaker, but…”
Key Features
- The vast majority of musical instrument frequencies are covered by a linear array of four 85 mm Balanced Mode Radiator drive units. This provides unrivalled realism.
- Common Time Base Transmission Line: The two force cancelled bass units share the same transmission line as the linear BMR array; this enables incredibly tight and well-timed bass with superb textural reproduction.
- Rigid mounting of BMR drive units in a machined aluminium sub-baffle. Drive units are circumferentially clamped via a 4 mm stainless steel bezel.
- Curvi-transmission line: Utilising experience gained in design of the Curvi loudspeakers, the corners of the line are smoothed out using profiled closed-cell foam inserts, enabling the line to operate more effectively.
- The production Etude 5s are finished in real piano lacquer applied by Shackleford Pianos of Macclesfield, Cheshire, a leading piano restoration workshop. The stunning liquid gloss finish is made up of multiple sprayed coats, hand denibbed between each and hand polished and buffed to a mirror-like shine – identical to that on a fine concert pianoforte. The default finishes for the four pairs are two in black high gloss and two in white high gloss. Other finishes (any RAL colour at a range of reflectivity (gloss) levels) are available on request. Matching of colour to a specific sample is also possible.
